First playable notes:
- ***Assignments will be due every Thursday***
Overall:
- Game needs more depth whether it be more environment art or gameplay
- More tension needed
- Earn spawned units (resource)
- Special Effects
- Two levels of detail(overview and close up view)
Programmers:
- Area maintenance: Neutral creeps re-spawn to gain incentive to keep units in regions
- AI: First player AI needed
Artists:
- More communication!
- Learn Maya
- Characters:
- Concept art due by Thursday
- Do silhouette study: Take a character and make them all black on a white background. Can you tell what your character is or does it differ from your other characters?
- Each artist needs two characters, one sanity and one insanity.
- Prepare animation thumbnails of the idle and attack animations.
This looks like a nice introduction into keyframe animation in Maya.

I have posted the notes and assignments on the blog under First Playable Notes. Please let me know if I am missing anything.
ReplyDeleteNice stuff!
ReplyDeleteJust to let everyone know, I have picked a unit for insanity:
Swarm of Eyeballs of assorted animals (mammals, reptiles, insects, etc.)
How are the artists coming along? Have you looked into maya? How are your sketches?
ReplyDeleteI'll be uploading some sketches into the new post I made, dedicated to the cause, momentarily. I also have some concerns about sizing: I don't think that "larger is better" when we're working with such tiny pixel amounts for the handheld phone. I think we're going to lose a lot of detail and pixel strength when we try to rescale these large images and then attempt to display them on phones (which vary in resolution).
ReplyDeleteCreating them at 100% size is going to be better than scaling them down to hopefully retain the same effect as desired... We should probably chat about this on Tuesday, and maybe run some tests with what we have available to us.
I found another website for some quick tutorials on Maya:
